In an effort to maximize clinical access and improve scheduling efficiencies, Centegra Health System will implement a new cancellation policy in outpatient clinics and Centegra Physician Care. Effective Sept. 3, 2014 any cancellation made by a patient less than 24 hours in advance of an appointment will be considered a missed appointment and will result in a cancellation fee of $25.
Each outpatient service will adopt this policy. Please review the policy for guidance on how to implement and communicate the Missed Appointment Fee to patients.
Missed Appointment Fees will be charged to all patients, regardless of insurance coverage. The patient, not the insurance, will be billed. Treatment will not be denied based on assessed fees. However, if the department leader determines an emergency situation or inclement weather existed, the fee can be waived. Exceptions should be applied consistently. Inpatients using outpatient services cannot be charged a fee.
We appreciate your support of this new policy. We are attaching the policy and FAQs to help you roll this out to your associates and patients. If you have any questions regarding the policy, please feel free to contact one of us.Rachel Sebastian, Vice President, Site Administrator CH-M Sheila Senn, Vice President, Site Administrator CH-W Mike Ford, Vice President, CPC Operations Matt Carlen, Vice President, Health and Wellness
